I am a poet and literary translator, co-coordinator of the Translation Studies Working Group at the University of Oregon, and a member/editor in the Airlie Press poetry collective. My book Skein of Light, published in 2014, was a finalist for the Eric Hoffer Book Award for poetry and my poems, translations, and reviews have appeared (or are forthcoming) in literary journals including Saranac Review, Potomac Review, Translation Review, and Beloit Poetry Journal. I’m also the author of the chapbook Sketching Elise (Finishing Line Press, 2012) and of Delft Blue & Objects of the World, a translation into English of two volumes of poetic essays by Quebec poet Louise Warren (Guernica Editions, 2012). I had the particular pleasure this past year of translating and being translated by Quebec poet Louise Dupré (who was the recipient of Canada’s Governor General’s Literary Award for Poetry in 2011). My translation into English of one of Louise Dupré’s long poem series is forthcoming in Blue Lyra and her translations into French of eight of my poems from Skein of Light are forthcoming in Les Écrits.
